- PREPARATION: If you are signing into your Affiliated email for the first time OR you just had your password reset for these systems by our helpdesk, please use this article: "How to login to your Agent email (via a web browser)"
- PREFACE: If you were just redirected here from above article or receiving a Microsoft prompt for "More information required", please continue reading the article below on how to setup your Outlook security profile.
- DO NOT SKIP THIS SETUP! If you do not make a security profile, you will not be able reset your Affiliated email password yourself and will have to contact our helpdesk for any future reset requests.
Setting up your security profile
- On the next screen, you’ll be prompted to provide more information; click Next. (*NOTE* If you are an Affiliated staff member or member of its leadership, you also be prompted and required to setup multi-factor authentication at this time in addition to the following setup - CLICK HERE to see those instructions in another browser tab.)
- Two pieces of information are required to secure your email sign-in: enroll and verify your cell phone number and a non-Affiliated email address. *NOTE* Although you’ll see the option to “Skip setup” on the next few screens, YOU SHOULD NOT CLICK ON THAT LINK UNLESS DIRECTED TO DO SO BY THE HELPDESK! – failure to complete this setup will prevent you resetting your password yourself and could delay you from accessing your email now and during future login attempts.
- For the first step, enter the digits of your cell phone number in the "Enter phone number" on your computer screen, select if you'd like to receive a code via a text message to your phone or if you'd like an automated verification call *NOTE* these verification code texts or calls rely your cellular network connection and your cell phone being powered on. If you do not receive the text or call, please reboot your cell phone, then request the code be resent.
- Once you receive the code, enter it on your computer screen, then click Next.
- With the code verified, click Next.
- For the final step, enter a non-affiliated email address you have access to (such as a personal Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, etc. type of mailbox). Please verify that the address is spelled and punctuated correctly, then click Next.
- A security code will be emailed to the address you provided. Retrieve the code from that message, enter the code where shown, then click Next. *NOTE* these verification code emails can get trapped by the spam filters of some mailboxes, so please check all your email folders for these messages. Also, the code emails can sometimes have a delayed delivery depending on your email provider and internet/cellular connection status. If you experience such a delay, reboot your device and/or try a different email address.
- Now that you have verified your phone number and your email, click Done.
- Congratulations! You have completed the setup process for the Affiliated email password reset portal. Click Done. *NOTE* if you get an error message when you click on Done, it’s OK; just close the browser tab and open a new one to outlook.office365.com or reopen your outlook app to access your email as you normally would.
-
