Removing Cookies and Cache - Chrome, Edge, and Safari
Chrome
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More .
- Click More tools Clear browsing data.
- At the top, select Advanced, then select All time from the Time Range menu.
- Check the boxes next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files. Leave the last 4 boxes unchecked.
- Click Clear data.
- Allow Chrome to complete the process and once it is done COMPLETELY close out of Chrome. This is important for the browser to finish clearing the data.
- FOR MAC - It is not enough to just close the window. Instead, we must Force Quit out of the application. We can do this two ways.
- The first is to press the Option (or Alt), Command, and Esc keys all together.
- The second way is to use the Force Quit option.
- Verify that Chrome is in the top bar of your screen by clicking on any blank space in the webpage (this should appear next to the Apple logo in the top-left corner).
- Click the Apple menu (logo) at the top-left corner of your screen to open it, then select Force Quit. This should cause Chrome to close and the dot underneath showing it as Active should disappear.
- FOR MAC - It is not enough to just close the window. Instead, we must Force Quit out of the application. We can do this two ways.
Microsoft Edge
- On your computer, open Edge.
- At the top right, click More .
- Click Settings
- From the Settings page, select Privacy, search, and services from the Left-side menu.
- Under Clear browsing data, click on
- Select All time for the Time range.
- Check the boxes next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files. Leave the last 4 boxes unchecked.
- Click Clear now.
- Allow Edge to complete the process and once it is done COMPLETELY close out of Edge. This is important for the browser to finish clearing the data.
Safari
- Click Safari in the upper left hand side of your screen. In the menu that appears, click Preferences.
- In the window that appears, click the Privacy tab. Click the button Remove All Website Data....
- Click Remove Now in the pop up window that appears.
